OBJECTIVE:
Develops and manages commercial
loan accounts which meet established lending requirements, and which maximize
profitability while minimizing risk. Sets
goals for growth, fee income, delinquency and charge offs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Interviews loan applicants, collects,
analyzes financial and related data to determine general credit worthiness
of the prospect and the merits of the specific loan request.
- Establishes and negotiates terms
under which credit will be extended, including costs, repayment method and
schedule and collateral requirements.
- Collects and analyzes information
which reflects current credit worthiness of customers and current merits
of existing loans.
- Monitors loan repayment activities
and takes necessary action to collect from past due accounts.
- Adheres to customer service standards
to ensure that inquiries are handled in a prompt, efficient and courteous
manner.
- Develops new business by contacting
prospects and customers.
- Participates in community affairs to
increase the bank’s visibility and to enhance new business opportunities.
- Performs job duties in accordance
with all appropriate laws and regulations.
- Reviews new developments in
commercial lending and changing government regulations, ensuring that the
staff is kept informed.
- Performs other work-related duties as
assigned.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Degree
in business, finance or marketing
- 5
years’ experience in commercial/ag lending is preferred.
- Thorough
knowledge of lending regulations and credit/underwriting practices
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent
PC skills including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, internet,
and internal software
- Strong
verbal, negotiation and presentation skills in order to achieve sales
objectives in a professional environment.
- Superior
analytical skills in order to underwrite and monitor loans and identify
business opportunities in a highly competitive environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
